JTRE launches inaugural ESG report, underscoring commitment to a sustainable future

JTRE ESG Report 2023

JTRE, the parent group of JTRE London, has unveiled its inaugural ESG report.

The report, prepared with support from Deloitte, and in accordance with internationally recognized GRI standards, represents a new milestone on the group’s journey towards sustainability, transparency and social responsibility.

JTRE aims to achieve a 10% embodied carbon reduction on new buildings from 2026 when compared to 2024, zero operational carbon emissions of new buildings by 2030, all JTRE offices to be Scope 1 & 2 Net Zero Carbon by 2040 and diverting 75% of construction waste from landfill. This is supported by a range of other initiatives from creating healthy buildings with high levels of biodiversity net gain to JTRE employee wellbeing and development targets.

With a track record spanning almost 30 years, JTRE is a leading real estate investor and developer in Central Europe, creating integrated sustainable neighbourhoods that add value for all stakeholders from occupiers to surrounding neighbours. An example of JTRE’s existing innovation and commitment to sustainability can be found at its large-scale mixed-use River Park scheme in Bratislava, which uses water from the River Danube as an emission-free source for cooling.

Nigel Fleming, managing director of JTRE London, comments: “At JTRE London, we are committed to advancing sustainable practices and proudly support the group’s mission of creating greener, more resilient urban environments that bring benefits for all stakeholders, not just those who occupy our buildings. While this inaugural ESG report highlights JTRE’s efforts in Slovakia, the London team is equally dedicated to embedding sustainability across all our activities, with strong foundations in place thanks to projects like 220 Blackfriars Road which is set to deliver an exceptionally high bar across all aspects of ESG.

“We know this is the start of a long-term journey and through close collaboration with the wider group, we look forward to evolving a range of initiatives to create a better, more sustainable future.”
